Are you struggling with acne and blemishes? If so, it can be hard to go from product to product, trying different methods, and get little to no results. Another problem is that the ‘acne systems’ that are supposed to fix your acne are so expensive that you can’t afford to keep using it month after month. What else is there to do? If your product shopping has been limited to the skin care aisle at your local drugstore, there may be other options you haven’t tried before. Herbal remedies for acne are a great way to treat your acne. It just may be the acne remedy you are looking for.
There are many herbal remedies that you can try, each doing different things. A brown sugar scrub or oatmeal scrub is a great way to cleanse your skin. Oatmeal is moisturizing and less abrasive, so it may be a good place to start. Just mix some oatmeal with water and scrub your face gently with the tips of your fingers. After you cleanse your face, you will need an astringent to dry up pimples and clear away dirt, oil, and dead skin cells that are left behind. Lemon juice is great for this. Just get a cotton swab wet and add a few drops of lemon juice. Then, swipe it all over your face. Witch hazel is another good astringent that may be more effective, but also drying.
If you need something to help large pimples, you need a bacteria killing herb. Tea tree oil is often considered the equivalent of benzoyl peroxide. Use a concentration of 5 to 10% for the most effective results. Keep it away from your eyes and mouth. You can buy it as a straight oil and use water to dilute it. For a moisturizer, I like aloe vera. Not only does it moisturize, but it does it without adding oil or clogging pores. It also helps with redness and inflammation, common with acne.
